About ACU - who we are

The members of Alyth Choral Union enjoy singing in a nonprofessional capacity for their own enjoyment and to provide a pleasant musical experience for their audiences. The choral members  range in age and experience and new members are always made most welcome to this small but friendly group. An ability to read music is desirable but not essential. ACU rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 - 9.30 PM in Alyth Parish Church Hall in preparation for their concerts at Christmas and Easter.

Early in January, 1983, a constitution for the Alyth Choral Union (ACU) was established with its main objective being “The practice and performance in public or in private of choral and orchestral music of an accepted high standard.” This is what the choir aims to do and has achieved on many occasions.

ACU is a small friendly choir of 36 members and they very much enjoy what they do. The membership of the choir is open to all who are interested in making choral music.
